Disease Event Entry

VAMPP Version 3.2.0 has expanded disease entry, now including more general health/disease events. Additional diagnoses can be added to your pull-down list by clicking on the Add disease button

Entry of disease events creates an action list under Activities, treatment/withdrawal that shows the day-to-day treatment of animals that is required. This includes animals that have milk withdrawal, reason, treatment due, as well as last reproductive findings.

To enter a disease event:

1. Click Entries, health, disease 
2. Select Animal 
3. Enter date of diagnosis 
4. Select closest disease event from list, for events not listed, select other and add comment in comment line
5. Enter animal’s temperature (if taken) 
6. Enter comment if needed 
7. Select drug used from pull-down menu (You can add new drugs by clicking on the treatment cabinet button)
8. If drug is given in a different dosage than recommended on the label, adjust meat and/or milk withdrawal according to your veterinarian by clicking on little red circle. 
9. If a broken needle to be recorded, place check mark in box and fill in comment box the location of broken needle. Click OK 
10. Fill in the dosage administered
11. Select route of treatment eg, oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous etc. from the pull-down menu
12. Fill in number of treatments per day 
13. Fill in number of days to be treated. e.g. if animal is to be treated for more than one day 
14. Select the  treatment date in the Start treatment date. 
15. Save data - either press the “F9" key or click on the little brown disk (2nd icon from left) on the tool bar.
