Vaccination Program Setup

To set up your farm's vaccination program in Vampp:

When in the Vampp program:

1. Go to Entries: Health: Vaccination: Batch or Individual
2. Click on the  Vaccine Cabinet button
3. Select from the Treatments Available box the Vaccine name(s) that you use on your farm
4. Click the Add button to move the vaccine to the Active Vaccinations box.
5. When all required vaccines are in the Active Vaccinations box, click OK
6. This returns you to the vaccination entry screen
7. Now click on the Vaccination Parameters button
8. A window with all vaccine names listed in alphabetical order will appear.
9. Select the age group that you want to define the vaccination parameters for:
   C (calves <12 months)
   Y (yearlings > 12 months)
   L (lactation 1+ animals)
10. Select the category that you want to define the vaccination parameters for:
    F - (first vaccination)
    B - (booster vaccination)
11. Select the condition that you want to define the vaccination parameters for:
    1 - condition one (default)
    2 - condition two (only if a second condition needs to be recorded)
12. Go to the vaccine name that you use on your farm
13. There are three stages that need to defined
    Low - the lowest possible limit or date for the animal to appear on the list
    High - the reasonable upper limit or date for the animal to continue to appear on the list
    Past - the maximum limit or date for the animal to continue to appear on the list - after this event the animal will no longer appear as due.
    Repeat - allow the event to be repeated the number of times identified
    Days - is the interval in number of days before the vaccination is to be repeated. For example:

Express 5/Somnugen to be given to Lactation 1+ animals within the range of Calving +21 days to Calving +2 months and NOT after the animal is serviced



J-Vac to be given to Lactation 1+ animals within the range of Expected Calving -2 months to Expected Calving -3 weeks and NOT after the animal reaches expected calving date
This vaccine is to be repeated 2 times
With a minimum interval between vaccination dates of 21 days

14.   Click OK when the parameters have been correctly entered.

15.   The animals due for vaccination can be reviewed under Activities: Vaccinations or under your Activities: VetCheck list
Record all animals that have received vaccinations under: Entries: Health: Vaccination: Batch or Individual
